Owner/Investor Working in Commercial Real Estate Since 1981

I have been involved in the office and retail sectors of the New Orleans and Gulf South real estate markets for over 23 years. I have sold major CBD office buildings (Energy Center, 1615 Poydras), numerous suburban office bldgs. (Causeway Plaza) and First Industrials Louisiana portfolio. I have redeveloped a 142,000 sq. ft. retail center in Slidell, LA and have built buildings for Verison, Allstate Insurance and Fed Ex. I have been involved in the development of Northpark Business Park in Covington, LA, including a strip center for T-Mobil and McAlister's Deli. I have also been involved in many office tenant rep assignments like Allstate Insurance (50,000 sf), Ernst & Young (25,000 sq. ft.) and AmSouth Bank (30,000 sf). I have done site selection work for AmSouth Bank and other retailers like Dollar General. I have been involved in the sale of numerous shopping centers, including one for GMAC in Houma, LA. As a result of this activity, Barry Spizer has been twice awarded the F. Poche Waguespack award by the N. O. Assoc. of Realtors for the highest volume of sales and leases in the city of New Orleans. Recently, Spizer served as National president of the CCIM Institute.
